Medical coverage for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled from December 21 to January 18 across several Moroccan host cities, will include an air medical evacuation system operated by Air Océan Maroc.
The Moroccan company was selected following coordination between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MSPS), the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), and the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This decision forms part of a comprehensive medical security strategy for the tournament.
Air Océan Maroc will be responsible for providing emergency air medical evacuations, ensuring rapid response and appropriate medical care for players, officials, and accredited personnel when required. The system will cover all competition venues.
The operator’s selection was based on several operational criteria, including prior experience, technical capabilities, and the availability of specialized medical teams trained in air medical transport.
The company operates a fleet of fully equipped medical aircraft fitted with advanced life-support and patient monitoring systems. Missions will be conducted by qualified medical and paramedical crews trained to manage emergency situations.
Having previously supported major international competitions, including AFCON 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire and CAF Champions League matches, Air Océan Maroc further strengthens its role in the medical coverage of high-profile sporting events.
